Mr. Baxter has been a part of the MMB team since 2012. He supports his clients in all areas of intellectual property law, including intellectual property counseling and litigation, as well as helping his clients obtain utility and design patent, trademark, and copyright protection for their IP assets. Mr. Baxter has a wide range of technical experience, including power tools, auto parts, batteries, printing, apparel, aerospace, and healthcare products. Travis is a member of the bar of the State of Indiana, and is registered to practice before the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. In addition, Mr. Baxter serves as an at-large member of the Indianapolis Bar Association’s IP Section Executive Committee and is a member of AIPLA and the Lawyer-Pilots Bar Association.

Travis spent over seven years in Iowa City, IA, where he graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law with high honors, in addition to earning a B.S.E. in Civil Engineering and a M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering with a Water Resources focus from the University of Iowa College of Engineering. While working on his joint M.S. and J.D. degrees, Mr. Baxter worked with the Iowa Flood Center and Iowa Institute of Hydraulic Research in developing an engineering model for a distributed storage flood mitigation system in the Cedar and Iowa River basins, and also researched the regulatory aspects of such a system, in his thesis titled Engineering and Legal Aspects of a Distributed Storage Flood Mitigation System in Iowa.

When he is not protecting his clients’ IP, Mr. Baxter is kept busy working his second job, herding his three young children. He is also a founding member of the Smooth Sailing Flying Club, and can occasionally be found drilling holes in the sky in the club’s Cessna 182.
